Maine Coast Wedding Photographers
Heather and Jon were married on a beautiful summer Tuesday, in an intimate ceremony at a family cottage in South Thomaston, Maine. A Tuesday wedding, you’re thinking? Yes, midweek weddings are relaxed and fun, and as Maine coast wedding photographers, we love the easy going atmosphere they bring. Heather and Jon are from Iowa, but Heather’s family has had this charming, rustic cottage for many, many years. Heather fondly recalls the summer visits she and her family would make. The cottage in question is at the end of a grassy, unpaved road. As you slowly make your way down the driveway, you can feel the peace and quiet settle in.
Below, Heather and Jon see each other before their wedding ceremony, in what is known as a “first look”. It is a carefully choreographed meeting between the bride and groom, in a secluded spot. We set the stage and Jon turned around to meet his bride. Their expressions are priceless.
Time was carefully scheduled so that we could whisk Heather and Jon away for some couples portraits in the fishing village of Port Clyde, Maine.
Taking a moment at the snack bar inside dining at the Port Clyde General Store. Everyone loved seeing a real bride and groom on a Tuesday lunchtime. Unexpected, to say the least. So fun!
The family cottage made a perfect spot for this intimate wedding ceremony! And did we mention what perfect weather this day held in store for everyone?
Shelley’s Flowers created some of the prettiest pink and white bouquets we’ve seen featuring roses, freesia and pink hydrangea!
Kim Doll did an outstanding job on Heather’s, and her bridesmaids, hair. Simply gorgeous!!
Coastal Critters Clambakes provided delicious grilled meats, salads, fruit, potatoes and vegetables.
Captain Ken Barnes not only performed the ceremony, he also played the processional and recessional…on the bagpipes!
Wonderful pictures especially the black and white ones.
