A Biddeford Pool Maine Sunset | Maine Wedding Photographers

Biddeford Pool is barely 10 minutes from where we live. We often time our day to take in the spectacle and beauty of yet another Biddeford Pool Maine sunset. Today was such a day. It’s amazing to watch this screenplay unfold, as no two times is it the same. That’s the beauty of a Biddeford Pool Maine sunset! Combinations of weather, cloud cover, and the tide makes it a new palette virtually every time.

Liz walks towards the warm shallow water, in the first image. Following that is a view of the Marie-Joseph Spiritual Center complex with dramatic clouds behind.

I just love the panning blur of the gull soaring in the third image, along with its soft pastel hues.

The fourth is perhaps my favorite! The sun sets just behind the modern home and just over a patch of dune grass. Tonight I adjusted my lens aperture to create the starburst effect.

Every photo in this set was taken with the Canon 16-35mm F/2.8 L MkII lens mounted to a Canon 5D Mk III camera body.

We just love the dynamics of seeing the gray clouds with the pink highlights as the sun transitioned down over the horizon.

The second-to-last photo, it’s worth mentioning, is a “stitched panorama”. That means it’s really made up of several overlapping images precisely blended in just the right way so as to make one smooth image. It’s something photographers will understand. In this case, it’s made up of 6 high-res images so as to make one really high-res wide-spread view.

The series closes with a black-and-white, adding emphasis to the lines in the sky and in the sand.
