Lively Wedding Photos | Rockport Maine Wedding Photographers
During the wedding day Hora, you’re bound to capture some lively wedding photos!
Spoiler alert: This is one of two images in this countdown from Perri and Steve’s wedding at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine. There are so many aspects of weddings we just love. That said, the Hora ranks right up at the top of these favorite / most exciting moments at any wedding. Few other aspects of any traditional wedding celebration offer so much excitement and fun.
In this overly-simplified explanation, the Hora, is a circle dance that has the bride, groom, and often parents hoisted aloft in a chair by several people while Hava Nagila is played. I get goose bumps when I hear this song, as it signals my chance for a stellar image.
There’s a lot of movement. And the dance floor gets very congested. There will be little chance to get a great action photo, if the photographer doesn’t join right in. Also, while off-camera lighting isn’t a requirement, it gives you a better chance at a sharp photo.
One thing is for sure during the Hora, as the person in the chair is being raised, there will likely be a look of fear before it may turn to gales of laughter.
Such is the case with Perri ^^ here! We just love the charged excitement of everyone taking part as well as with the on-lookers. See how many people’s eyes are telling a story, not the least of whose is Perri’s!
