Bowdoin College Engagement Session | Maine Wedding Photographers

Elizabeth and Scott’s Bowdoin College engagement session was, for Liz, the most significant engagement session to date. Why? Because Elizabeth is her youngest daughter (!).

Scott and Elizabeth live in Beverly, MA, Scott’s hometown. Elizabeth grew up in Bass Harbor, Maine, which is on Mt. Desert Island. She and Scott vacationed recently in Bar Harbor at the end of July. Little did Elizabeth know (okay, she might have suspected!) that Scott was planning on proposing.

A few days into their Bar Harbor vacation, they decided to go for a walk on the Wonderland Trail in nearby Southwest Harbor. Wonderland is a favorite of Elizabeth’s. Bass Harbor, her hometown, is nearby, and we used to hike the trail often, sometimes even more than once a day. It’s a quick hike, just over a mile, so Scott had to time his proposal carefully.

They stopped for a moment (on a heart shaped rock, so the story goes). As Scott tells it, he pulled the ring box out of his backpack and got down on one knee. “We talked about being each other’s best friends the other night. How would you like to be my best friend for the rest of your life?” How sweet is that?

Elizabeth and Scott stopped at our house on their way home. To tell their story, and have a few photos taken during this abbreviated (but, again, very special) engagement session. We couldn’t be happier for them, and us!
