Cape Porpoise Engagement | Kennebunkport Maine

Jillian and Jon had an amazing Cape Porpoise engagement session. How often do we get to be out on the water in a lobster boat on a gorgeous summer evening? Not often! And, it was actually two lobster boats! More on that later. And boy did Jillian and Jon rock it! Jillian and Jon live in the Cape Porpoise area of Kennebunkport, Maine, one of our very favorite little coastal towns.

Jon is from the Nunan family, well-known in the region. The Nunan’s have not only been lobstering for generations, they also own Nunan’s Lobster Hut, which has been in the family for over 60 years. We went out on Jon’s boat, Vengeance, with his dad, Richard, following in his own boat, Rhiannon. This way, we photographed from the same boat as our couple, and also from another boat looking on. The tide was high, the breeze was mild, the temperature perfect, and thus it was a perfect evening for photos!

Jillian is a hair stylist and works at Supercuts in Biddeford, where Russ has been a client of Jillian’s for the past 5 years. We started our session out on land (the photos are in sequence after this lead in) and had fun in the front of an old barn, at Nunan’s Lobster Hut, and on the working fishing docks at Cape Porpoise. We’re already looking forward to the fun it will be next summer, when these two tie the knot!
